Toastmasters 2017
A new week-a new task!
Today we`ll discuss ToastMasters 2017 and new winners of it: Simon Bucknall, Kevin Stamper,
Manoj Vasudevan.
Let's get started!
Simon Bucknall "What James Bullock Tought Me"
Breathing: There was some heavy breathing before the speech and at times during the first couple of minutes of the speech. It telegraphs nervousness or an uncertainty which affects how the audience perceives the speaker.
Kevin Stamper "Speak Up"
Looking at the result you may see Who is my favourite speaker for ToastMasters 2017!
The official start of his speech began with a hand gesture instead of a word. Then he began to count from 1 to 3 with the audience, thereby showing his confidence to the audience. He also greeted everyone "Madam Contest Master, my Fellow Toastmasters, and Communicators…" and begin with the story from his childhood. His speech had multiple layers throughout that pieced together like a puzzle. The speaker was very polite with the audience, his voice was calm and credible, I would listen to him forever. His gestures were natural and appropriate. During the nun story, the gestures he used to describe how they stood in a single-file line were perfectly executed. To give closure to the speech, he began and ended the speech in the same way. In the beginning he counted with the audience one to three; to close he counted with them through two and allowed the audience to say "three" without him. Kevin spoke about 8 minutes, but I wanted to hear from here more stories from him.
Manoj Vasudevan "Pull Less, Bend More"
Oooh, MAYBE, someday I will learn to evaluate speeches but it will be a completely different story! His speech was about the power of being flexible in relationships. And, I thing, it's one of the most meaningful messages. But, this is so much overacting, so much practiced, so little genuine, and totally not convincing.
Do you want to know a really winners??? Watch the championship! I'm sure, you'll be suprised!!!!

Simon Bucknall "What James Bullock Tought Me"
"How often in life do the great problems stem from breakdowns of understanding? The evidence is all around us. Fear and Hatred are strong emotions, but they’re no match for the power of mutual understanding. That’s what Bullock taught me because I received help from the very last person on earth I could ever have expected.Who in your life needs your understanding?Who needs you to show a level of understanding that brings courage where there may have been fear? That, to bring respect to where there may have been prejudice? Where there, to bring compassion where there may have been hate?"

I want to say what I really didn't like in his speech:
“RRRRRRR” Noise: The “RRRRRRR” noise he chose was odd. He did it to indicate the clearing of a throat, but that noise did not remind me of that. It sounded more like an angry person about to lose their sh@#. Breathing: There was some heavy breathing before the speech and at times during the first couple of minutes of the speech. It telegraphs nervousness or an uncertainty which affects how the audience perceives the speaker.
Kevin Stamper "Speak Up"
"See, I’m not here tonight because I believe I have something important to say, I’m here because I believe you have something important to say. That there are friendships waiting to be formed. There is forgiveness waiting to be given. There are families waiting to be strengthened because you have something to say. And you’ve been given a voice, but it’s your responsibility to Speak Up"

"You see, the bow and the string have a great partnership. The more the string pulls back, the more the bow bends. Ego is what pulls the string. Still the mighty bow bends, because it cares for the partner. When she pulls, you bend. When you pull, she bends. If you pull too hard your relationship will break. If you want to fix it, both of you need to pull less and bend more. Pull less and bend more"
